Today I had an opportunity to do some product photography or better yet "food photography". I have photographed products before being a wedding photographer but it was always things like wedding rings, watches, flowers, shoes and etc. I even have experience photographing food from weddings but nothing to this extent.
It all started at 2631 Devine St, Columbia SC at Burger Tavern 77. I went in with a few ideas from a google search of "food photography". That gave me a few ideas on angles however lighting was still absent. I figured I would start off shooting it like a wedding ring just not as close and what do you know, it actually worked! I continued to grab shots at different angles, adjusting my lighting as needed. Each shot I was trying to capture the essence of the burger. Each person that watched me shoot, you could see in their eyes they wanted to eat it! That is what I was going for with each photo!
Eventually I conquered my product photography mission and finished off the session with a burger of my own. I like to call "The Photographer"! That is right, Burger Tavern 77 lets you create and name your own burgers! Do you want to know what "The Photographer" consist of? 1 super huge JUICY medium well patty, smoked pimento cheese, pepper jack cheese, pecan bacon, medium fried egg, lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup and dill pickle on the side! Oh and don't forget the union rings! Let me tell you that I had trouble eating it, not because it was bad but because it was HUGE! I had to start off slow and work my way through it :). All in all my experience was amazing. The photo shoot was awesome, the food was amazing and the staff did an outstanding job.
